Mountain biking in the Surrey Hills is a must for any mountain biker. The area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) is home to some of the UK's best cross country trails and forest singletrack, all within an hour of London and the south coast. 

Surrey Hills Trail Taster

The Trail Taster Ride is the perfect introduction to mountain biking on the Surrey Hills for a frequent mountain biker, looking to explore a new area. This MTB ride starts and finishes in the quaint village of Holmbury St. Mary and takes in the impressive Leith Hill tower before winding its way down through endless singletrack and rolling bridleways. Come and join us, meet new friends and enjoy this superb and sociable introduction to mountain biking on the Surrey Hills. PLEASE NOTE: This ride is not suitable for beginners who are not proficient at technical singletrack.

Is this mountain bike ride for me?
You will be at least an advanced beginner mountain biker who is looking to experience a new type of terrain and trail. You will be confident in basic bike handling skills and profficient with operating your bicycle in the correct manner
The trails will include features such as roots, small rollable drop-offs and loose small rocks. All of which are rollable
All the trails will have options to ride around features that you do not feel comfortable riding
You have your own suitable mountain bike (Hybrid and budget bicycles are not suitable for this ride)
The ride does contain a limited number of undulating and moderately steep long climbs
You have the personal fitness to ride for at least 2-3 hours at a social and comfortable pace
You are aged 16 and over unless accompanied by an adult also participating on this ride

Singletrack Adventure

The Surrey Hills Singletrack Adventure is our most popular ride with many riders coming back for more and more each month. We cover 3 of the main hills and inject as much flowing, fast singletrack mountain biking as you can handle. But beware this ride is a challenge! You'll need to have a good level of fitness to be able to enjoy every inch of the sublime trails. Throw in the delicious snacks and coffee at Peaslake Village Stores and the traditional post-ride drink and you'll see why this is the perfect sociable and fun guided MTB ride. PLEASE NOTE: This ride is not suitable for beginners who are not proficient at technical singletrack.

Terms & Conditions
The safety and enjoyment of the group is our number one priority. You will be requested to take no further participation in the group ride, if our guide believes you are not capable of safely riding sections of the trail and or your bike or personal protection equipment (e.g. helmet) is not fit for purpose. The guide will ensure that you will return to your vehicle along with the rest of group, but an alternative route will be used. 
Marmalade MTB is not responsible for your expenses nor will a refund of your booking be offered if you are asked to take no further part in the activity.
Bookings are non-refundable.
Marmalade MTB reserves the right to cancel the guided rides within 24 hours notice due to illness, extreme weather conditions or the minimal number of bookings is not met.
Marmalade MTB will honour your booking (based on availability) if the ride is cancelled or you cannot take part for what ever reason.
The minimum number of bookings required is 4 riders and the maximum number of riders per guided ride is 8 riders.
On completing your booking, you will be accepting the terms and conditions above.

Need a lift from a train station?

Our big blue Renault Master is the perfect vehicle to support our sociable guided mountain bike rides on the South Downs and the Surrey Hills. Let's do our bit for the environment and van-share to reduce our carbon footprint. With its 7 passenger seats, separate bike garage, rear USB chargers, table and ample storage our Bike Bus takes the stress and strain out of travelling to the start of our rides.
